Health Care for All-California
Education Fund was incorporated in early 2002 as a separate
entity for the purpose of an education campaign. Since
it is educational in purpose, it qualifies as a 501(c)3.
Therefore, contributions to HCA-CA Educational Fund are
tax-deductible.
Educating the public
about the advantages of universal single payer
health care is key to the 2004 single payer legislative
campaign. Our health care system is complex and
bewildering. It takes time to become fully informed
on how to achieve universal health care at reasonable
cost in California.
Legislative analysis is important
to a solid understanding about the issues of
healthcare financing and the different kinds
of approaches to healthcare administration. We
seek funds to cover this research. Please refer
to the Studies page
on this website.
HCA-CA Education Fund plans to hold
organized public forums throughout the state, which
would provide factual information related to the
current state of health care coverage in California
and which would prompt public discussion and input
as to how to improve access to health care services
for the population, many of whom are currently
uninsured.
HCA-CA Education Fund conducts public
speaking engagement to various organized community
groups about health care access and affordability.
We have trained volunteers to speak.
Media outreach efforts are also ongoing.
We prepare and present Public Service Announcements
on the radio and television and we write and publish
editorial pieces in local newspapers.
In addition to our brochures, HCA
will produce many one-page papers on topics about
single payer. Some will be for general audiences
and others will be for specific constituencies.
These papers, for example, can be
distributed at house meetings and organization
meetings. All of them will be posted here on our
web site, where they can be read as well as printed. |
