Senator Mark Leno (See his website.) introduced the new single payer bill, SB 810, The California Universal Healthcare Act on March 11. The bill passed through the Senate Health Committee and will next be heard by the Senate Appropriations Committee in 2010. State budget problems have caused this delay.
